Southampton Wedding by Joyce : Francisca & Kenny

“We had Joyce photograph our wedding, and I must say that in addition to the lovely photos rendered, she was a gem during the wedding day. We were put at ease by her affable and professional demeanour, and she saved the day by providing us with her own set of makeup, toothpaste, and comb!” – Francisca & Kenny.

What I loved about Francisca and Kenny’s big day was that almost everything, from cakes to flowers, were personalised and hand-made by a family member. On the night before their wedding, Francisca’s sister, Christine, was still watching YouTube tutorials on how to properly put on a veil. She was in charge of Francisca’s makeup and hairdo, and she definitely did a great job in making our beautiful bride look elegant and classy.

Since Francisca and Kenny have settled down in England, their families came all the way from Malaysia to celebrate this joyous occasion with them. Both families also welcomed me with such open arms that I feel comfortable calling them my friends. I even found out that Kenny’s sister used to be my brother’s classmate back at St. David’s High School in Malacca – what a small world!

Later that day, Francisca wore her bright pink nyonya kebaya and a pair of red, custom-made Peranakan beaded slippers that had intricate patterns of birds and flowers. Together with the kerongsang brooch and a silver belt, I thought she looked absolutely stunning in that traditional outfit.
