As I walked along the morning market streets, vendors were busy getting ready for the day ahead and I could tell instantly that Deptford is nothing short of lively. If, On A Winter’s Day, is the first event by the newly-formed Deptford Society and I was asked to record the happenings throughout the day. Just like weddings, I love events that celebrate people and lifestyles.
Nothing felt better than to start the day with a slice of freshly baked apple and blackberry cake, and kudos to Elvira for crafting such good pastries! She does bespoke orders and they are available for delivery across London, so check her website out if you’re looking for some artisan desserts. It’s just such a shame that I live in Nottingham!
The day got even better with a very unique steel pan band (how quirky is that!) performance by Heart of Steel, and I must say that I am simply impressed by the diversity in the age of the performers. Lovely people and lovely musical taste! Among other activities, there were also beauty therapy taster sessions, a Christmas card workshop, choir performance by The Rock, and live music by the very talented Mike Pickering.
Hope you’ll enjoy these photos from Saturday!
