“We met in university and as our friendship blossomed through the years, we finally ended up together. We spent a lot of time apart as our jobs brought us to different places after graduation.
In 2010, I was planning to go for a work assignment for a year in the US. Without my knowledge, Dan went to ask my mum & dad for their permission to marry me. It was before I left, while we went on a short holiday, that he proposed, and I said yes! We’d be engaged for two years before tying the knot this November, and we have been going out for almost 8 years in total. Throughout the years, we have spent half of our relationship apart long distance. Over the years we grew together and experienced life together but sometimes apart. It wasn’t easy and involved much effort, love and sacrifice.
We love to travel when we get the chance to, and sharing our hearts over a hot cuppa coffee is the simplest and best way of our time spent together. Today, we are excited as we are going to begin the next phase of our lives together. We always live with a simple motto in life- Gratitude and Appreciate What You have. No matter what the situation in life may be, the most important thing is to have each other in life. I’ve got your back and you’ve got mine.
Believe in Love, Daniel and Dorothy…”
In August, Jon and I decided to give away a little treat – a styled photoshoot that is, and our lucky winners were Dorothy and Daniel. After hours of shopping for a gown, making two dozens of paper roses for a bouquet, getting a cake baked, iced and decorated, one would expect otherwise – but I fell even more in love with my job. I was looking forward to that Saturday but I received a last minute call from a dear friend to do another photo assignment that same weekend. The best part about working with your sibling is that you know that you can trust him to do a great job, and here I present to you another set of lovely photographs taken by Jon!
The red LOVE letter blocks used in our photos were Dorothy’s, because it reminded them of the LOVE sculpture in New York where they took a photo in front of while on a vacation, after a year apart while she was in the States.
Don’t you agree that Dorothy is absolutely gorgeous? I’m sure that it won’t be a surprise if I told you that she used to model at uni! Stunning!
Dear Dorothy and Daniel, we’d just like to wish you all the best in life and may your love be everlasting! Thanks for sharing with us your beautiful and inspiring story, I hope that this will teach all of us a little something – indeed, believe in love!
