Macalister and more, by Jon : Hui Yen & Ken

What’s better than a morning greeted by a plate of freshly made crêpes? With berry good toppings; what more drizzled with some rich maple syrup?

Nothing comes to mind, but the privilege of having a great company to share it with.

Jon worked with Hui Yen and Ken about one year ago on their ROM photos (for those of you who didn’t know, ROM stands for Registration of Marriage). It was a pleasure for me to finally meet them when I followed Jon to Penang. It was so easy to like Hui Yen – she has one of the most gorgeous smiles I’ve seen and her bubbly personality is infectious. Ken was also such a gentleman and he looked very smart in his outfit.

Our breakfast at Macalister Mansion was indeed a treat. I loved the white interior and all the pretty things on their walls. Just the perfect place for a cuppa, I must say. And if I were to go on a date, I’d definitely like to dine here again, teehee!

Both of them are such a great couple to work with, and they are everything that we could ask for – Fun, Gorgeous, and Natural. Not to mention how talented Hui Yen is at crafts. From flower arrangement to the ‘HITCHED’ banner, she made them all by herself. Thumbs up to handmade stuff! And did you know? Baby’s breath flower symbolizes purity of heart and innocence, that pretty much sums up our couple’s love for each other.

Want to know a little fun fact about Hui Yen? She’s afraid of balloons bursting! Hence the foil metallic balloons as an alternative to the conventional latex ones. How adorable is that!

Penang photoshoots always bring great memories. This summer is very meaningful to me because I had the best time learning and working alongside my big brother Jon. He has been and always will be the inspiration of my photography journey. Although I know that I’m going to miss Malaysia a lot, I’m really excited to return to England to welcome the rich autumn colours!

Words can’t describe the fun we had and we’d just like to thank both of you again, Hui Yen and Ken, for the splendid day and your precious smiles. Congratulations on getting married and may your love be everlasting!
