I was looking forward to this Taiping pre-wedding as it has been some time since I last shot here. That weekend, the bride-to-be was worried as her fiancé fell sick the day before. Besides that, it rains a lot in Taiping for most of the year. We were contemplating to move the photoshoot to another day, but at the very last minute we decided to go on with it. And boy were we glad we did as we were blessed with the great weather!
The talented Phei Yoong arranged the bouquet herself, and I must say that I absolutely love handmade items. I thought that the pink and red flowers fit the photoshoot just right, with the colours vibrant against the sweet white dress.
Taiping still retains much of the charm and I hope it stays this way for many years to come. It may be a small place, but life is good in Taiping – it is calm and tranquil, and the people here take their time to indulge in the present.
The second part of the photoshoot was to be at an old train station in Butterworth, Penang. However, we decided to have the shoot at Taiping’s other main attraction – Taiping Zoo, instead. Taiping Zoo is one of the oldest in the country and it is located in the lake garden itself. We attracted a fair bit of attention ourselves when we were there but both Phei Yoong and Lai were very sporting! Kudos to these lovely people!
It was a good day out and I enjoyed myself very much. What more, Phei Yoong and Lai are such naturals that it was so easy to work with them! This is just the first part of a 2-day prewedding photoshoot, so stay tuned for more photos from the second day!
